Transformers

Schmidbauer manufactures a comprehensive range of transformers in standard and special designs.

Schmidbauer only selects high quality metal cores complying to DIN regulations. Depending on application requirements special metal alloys or module constructions are used.

By the way – both of our standard series and the special constructions fulfil national and international regulations.

The construction of isolation transformers with an output of up to 2.5 MVA with ultra-compact design and special solutions for specific applications are special features of our design and manufacturing know-how. High-frequency transformers, auxiliary transformers for medium-voltage stationary stations, power transformers and high-voltage transformers for both small and large capacities expand our production range. We manufacture transformers for different industries:

  • Machine building
  • photovoltaics
  • decentralised energy supply
  • wind energy
  • ship building
  • test engeneering
  • high electrical engennering
  • LED technology
  • Control enclosure
  • Industrial electronik
  • power electronic
  • automotive
  • high voltage

For larger power ratings bigger than 100KVA, aluminum transformers can be used. The aluminum transformers tested as autotransformers or isolating transformers are characterized by excellent efficiencies and significant cost reductions compared to conventional copper transformers. These are possible in the power range up to approx. 2.5 MW up to voltages of 6 KV. Transformers with integrated inductance are also developed and produced by Schmidbauer. We are happy to inform you.

Thus, we offer you a wide spectrum from small transformers or low-voltage transformers to customized transformers up to 2.5 MVA. These can be designed as water-cooled or air-cooled coils, as well.

Production with 3-axis controlled winding machines, including fully automated further processing, allows flexible production processes in transformer construction with consistently high quality and attractive unit costs.

NC-controlled systems and hand-winding machines for transformers in special designs supplement our automated production.

Automated core welding, vacuum sealing, Testing of every single unit produced.

  • NC controlled welding for cores complying with EI54 to EI195, including simultaneous welding of mounting brackets.
  • Vacuum sealing with synthetic resin system, insulation class F
  • Transformers e.g. in polyamide housings can be completely and automatically sealed with PU resin.
  • PC based testing are used to check every single transformer unit before leaving our production facilities (amperage, voltage, coil and insulation resistance, phase sequence, high-voltage tests).

1 Phase Autotransformer, terminal tag connections, with screw type terminalsVT25 - 75VA according to IEC/DIN EN61558-2-13

1 phase pre-circuit transformer according to IEC/EN61558-2-13 (autotransformer) for general applications without the need of a galvanic isolation, e.g. for transforming typical mains voltage to other voltages needed by tools, machinery or other devices.

VT pre-circuit transformers and other autotransformers do not provide any electrical protection due to the lack of galvanic isolation between input and output windings.
